If there is a Mac-compatible version you will often see a Mac installer (typically a .dmg extension) option when downloading your software from Autodesk. For specific installation instructions about your program, you can refer to the support section.

Autodesk CAD software is compatible natively with Windows and Mac Operating Systems and some apps include versions for Mobile devices. Limited Linux compatibility is available for Maya and unofficial support can be achieved using third-party compatibility programs such as Wine.

AutoCAD-based products, Inventor, and 3ds Max can use separate language packs to add one or more additional language versions to an installed product. Each language pack provides user interface strings, message text, and documentation in a specific language, without duplicating the product software. To distribute a specific language version to multiple instances of an Autodesk product, you can use the installer included with each language pack to create a language pack deployment. If you need to deploy language packs for multiple languages or multiple products, you can create a batch file to install a series of language packs on each computer.

Sketchbook (formerly StudioPaint, Autodesk SketchBook), is a raster graphics software app intended for expressive drawing and concept sketching also for making animations (Jelly Boo, Teatralka). The software was first developed by Alias Systems Corporation as StudioPaint, before being acquired by Autodesk and then being spun out into an independent company, Sketchbook, Inc. Originally developed as commercial software, it evolved into a subscription model before eventually being made freeware for personal use. In 2021, Sketchbook Pro, the desktop version of the app available on Microsoft Windows and macOS, became a paid software available through the Microsoft Store and Mac App Store.[1][2][3]

In August 2012, SketchBook Pro 6 was released, marking a return to conventional version numbering. Throughout May 2014, another new version of Sketchbook Pro was shown on the software application's website, referred to as SketchBook Pro 2015.[citation needed]

In April 2018, the full-featured version of Sketchbook was made completely free to all users; the subscription model has been phased out, and all premium features (including perspective guides, flood fill, layer effects, and brush customization) are unlocked. Sketchbook will continue to be offered as a commercial subscription product, under its current incarnation: Sketchbook for Enterprise (this version of Sketchbook includes paid technical support as well as cross-functionality with other Autodesk software).[9][10]

In June 2021, Autodesk announced SketchBook would spin into an independent company, Sketchbook Inc. led by two former Autodesk SketchBook employees.[11][12] On the 30th of that month, Sketchbook released an update which made the app unusable for any device using Android 11, causing all saved work to appear deleted and crashes upon opening. This was rectified two days later with an expedited update.[13]It was later announced that Sketchbook Inc. would start charging users of Sketchbook Pro in order to fund the development of the application, however, they would not be using the previous subscription model and instead, charge a one-time payment for the software. [14]

On this page you will find all the hardware, software, environment, connectivity, and permission requirements that must be met to ensure compatible and consistent exam delivery. Live-in-the-Application (LITA) exams have individual program requirements that are above and beyond those of the exam delivery software or solution; refer to each individual program for detailed information. This page also lists which exams are available in which delivery system.

Important: The technical requirements of any locally installed software used with LITA (Live-in-the-Application) exams would be in addition to those of Compass. View each individual exam section in addition to the delivery system for each program your CATC wishes to administer.

*Note: All Live-in-the-application Microsoft Office Specialist exams delivered with Compass for Windows require a complete, local installation of the Office software, and only one Office Suite version may be installed per machine.

Microsoft 365 Apps: If you are using a cloud-based subscription to install the Office software, please see the Office 365 FAQ as it relates to delivering MOS exams with our Compass system.Office Shared Computer Activation and Device-based License: As documented in the Compass for Windows User Guide, CATCs using shared computer activation or device-based license of the locally installed Microsoft Office software required for Live-in-the-Application testing will be prompted for action when administering MOS exams. These actions may include activating the software (if opened for the first time), or signing in to the application. Compass opens the software and addresses any one-time or other prompts from the application prior to the exam to avoid anything that may cause an interference during actual testing.

Autodesk has released a Mac OS X version of Inventor Fusion, the freeform editing and interoperability software that unites direct and parametric modeling workflows. Autodesk uses Inventor Fusion and its other Labs releases as a test bed for new ideas that eventually make their way into commercial products.

Because it is a Labs product and available for free, Inventor Fusion for Mac does not come with technical support or subscription options. The community of users that work with software from Autodesk Labs support themselves, with encouragement from Autodesk personnel, on a variety of social websites, including a new Wiki Help Site for Inventor Fusion for Mac. 2ff7e9595c
